Delta Is Ready When You Are 12-09-2021
Any time you travel, prior planning is the key. We booked our trip through Delta Vacations. It was all inclusive. We selected our hotel and flight itinerary and they took care of the rest. We had a choice of several properties and chose the Fairmont le Chateau Frontenac.
We had to have a Covid 19 test completed no later than 72 hours before boarding our flight into Canada. We had the test administered at the Baptist Convenient Care in Prattville on Tuesday the 7th. So with passport in hand, vaccination card, and Covid test results we were ready to go.
We drove to Atlanta, parked our car at the Marriott, and took the shuttle to Delta. After checking in and clearing security, we had lunch and awaited our departure. The trip was uneventful until....we landed in New York City at LaGuardia airport. We had about 1 hour to change planes and make our connections into Canada. Our schedule was to fly to Toronto, then change planes for our final leg into Quebec City. After landing we sat on the taxi way for about 30 minutes. We got off the plane and started moving rapidly through the airport. Not only did we not have to change concourses, we had to take a shuttle bus to our next gate, We arrived at the gate and boarding had commenced. We made it. We then departed for Toronto. We boarded the plane for Quebec and thought everything was on track. It snowed last night in Toronto and our plane was covered in snow and ice. We were delayed almost another hour while the airplane was de-iced. We finally took off. We were scheduled to land in Quebec around 11:45 pm. We arrived about 1:00 am.
We had a driver reserved to meet us and take us to our hotel. We had no way to contact him about our delay. A nice guy. His name was Joe. He was waiting. We finally got to our room around 2:00 am. A long day, but a good day. Tomorrow the Christmas Market awaits.
